Madeleine Coleman: How long have you had your blog?
Sarah McManus: I started my blog four years ago because I love sharing my fashion and beauty finds with everyone as well as my love of all things Boston.
MC: How would you describe your blog?
SM: It is a taste of my fashion sense, fashions I enjoy, beauty products I find and use, jewelry I am passionate about, and Boston events.
MC: Why did you start your blog?
SM: I started my blog to give Boston readers another view of fashion that the city has to offer other than the few opinions out there right now. I also really enjoy what I do and what to share that with everyone.
MC: How would you describe your personal style?
SM: My personal style is a bit classic mixed with bohemian. I will throw in some rocker chic here in there. I love jewelry so you will see a great deal on me.
MC: How did you get into the styling field?
SM: I got into styling when I started working at the Improper Bostonian as Fashion Assistant in college. I fell in love with fashion. Five years later, I started my own styling company. History was made. The advice I can give Bostonians about refining their style is get rid of anything you do not love and keep the pieces that made you feel beautiful. Go from there and add around them. Before you know it, you’ll have your dream wardrobe.
MC: What are three key pieces a stylish Bostonian needs?
SM: A great pair of boots, a fabulous coat, and chic pair of sunglasses.
MC: Any advice for aspiring fashion/lifestyle bloggers?
SM: If you love what you do, work really hard and success will follow!
