The Northeast Youth Ballet presents The Nutcracker tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Lynn Memorial Auditorium in Lynn, MA.
The Nutcracker is the enchanting journey of a young girl named Clara in 1835’s Germany who embarks on a journey through a winter wonderland to a palace of sugary sweets. Featuring the talents of more than 100 dancers who auditioned from the Greater Boston area, the production is set to be staged once again at the Lynn Memorial Auditorium, Lynn, Massachusetts. The newly renovated Lynn Memorial Auditorium has also hosted icons such as Julio Iglesias, Kenny Rogers, Bill Cosby and the Boston Pops.
This year, the dancers are privileged to share the stage with professional – both national and international – guest artists hailing from China, Columbia, Canada, Hawaii and New York.
Now in its 15th year of production, the breathtaking sets, costumes and lighting are specially designed by professional artists in the field, and the community is buzzing with anticipation to witness this beloved holiday tradition that will return to Lynn this December. Critics rave and past praises for NYB performances include The Boston Globe, The Medford Daily Mercury, WBZ Channel 4, The Lynn Item, and other local papers and cable channels.
The Nutcracker will run from Thursday, December 8 through Sunday December 11, 2011.
