Her favorite: Going to any lengths
This photo became my favorite photo for a couple of reasons.
The first is the news angle. It’s rare to get an Amber Alert rescue.
When the situation started to unfold, I happened to hear the beginning of the scanner traffic of police setting up around the hotel.
Initially I didn’t know what was going on, but I knew it had to be big. While on my way to the scene, I learned it would be an Amber Alert rescue.
I arrived in time to catch police bringing the boy out, arresting suspects and taking the boy over to the nearby police substation.
The other reason I like this is I loved seeing all those people going to any lengths to rescue a child and the gentleness of how that boy was treated once he came out.
