16 doctors earn kudos


Sixteen members of Winchester Hospital’s medical staff were honored as top-rated doctors in their respective specialties in the December edition of Boston Magazine. The issue featured the 2011 list of “Top Docs” in Greater Boston. In all, 650 physicians were selected for recognition by their peers in 57 specialties. Winchester Hospital’s honorees are colorectal surgeon Dennis Begos of Commonwealth Surgical Associates in Stoneham; ophthalmologist David Gendelman of Burlington Eye Associates; plastic surgeon Jonathan Hall, who has a Stoneham office; Dennis Markovitz, who has a family medicine practice in Winchester; geriatrician Wayne Saltsman, who has a private practice in Stoneham; and Peter Tiffany of Mystic Valley Urological Associates in Stoneham. Other physicians who received the “Top Doc” accolade and are affiliated with Winchester Hospital include Tufts Medical Center physicians Erik Garpestad (pulmonary disease), Nicholas Hill (pulmonary disease), Lawrence Milner (pediatric nephrology), Abdollah Sadeghi-Nejad (pediatric endocrinology), and Jeffrey Sobell (dermatology); Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center physicians Dara D. Brodsky (neonatal-perinatal medicine), James E. Gray (neonatal-perinatal medicine), and John A. Zupancic (neonatal-perinatal medicine); physician DeWayne Marques Pursley (neonatal-perinatal medicine) from both Beth Israel and Children’s Hospital Boston; and dermatologist Thomas E.
