Heart Association rewarding obesity initiatives
BOSTON — The Greater Boston division of the American Heart Association will award $125,000 this year to local nonprofit community groups and organizations.
Grant proposals must be aimed at reducing cardiovascular diseases and their risk factors, and focus specifically on combating childhood obesity (www.HealthierGeneration.org). Awards may be used for new initiatives or expansion of successful projects.
The maximum grant will be $25,000 and a minimum of $1,000 per organization. Applications are due March 1 and organizations will be notified in June for the award term of July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
Any Cape Ann nonprofit applicants with 501C3 status or partnering with a 501C3 organization is eligible. Collaborative applications with local, state or federal agencies are encouraged.
