Sally drew extended applause from attendees with her description of what an interior designer looks for in a show room and how a show room can build loyalty with interior designers. They are as follows.
The key points an interior designer looks for in carpet or furniture show room are:
1. Beauty – It should be consistent with the product you sell.
2. Ease of seeing product.
3. Personable staff.
4. Up to date computer database to see all the show room’s inventory.
5. Efficient – Respond quickly to emails, phone calls, etc., showing respect for a designer’s time.
6. Clearly define your market and expertise.
A carpet or furniture show room can build the brand loyalty of an interior designer by doing the following.
1. Deliver on the point made above.
2. Be available, but not pushy..
3. Recognize that designers need to use other vendors.
4. Have events that make designers feel comfortable in your showroom.
5. Get to know the designer’s work and their style. Even their work style.
