Firebrand manager Roy Keane is set for a dramatic return to English football – with “no-one likes us, we don’t care” side Millwall, according to reports.
The Lions are said to be ready to sack boss Kenny Jackett after a disappointing season. Yesterday’s match at West Ham, in which they could not grab at point despite playing against 10 men for 82 minutes, left them only one place above the relegation zone.
Now Millwall’s rich American owner John Berylson could turn to Keane as the man to turn his club around.
The Bostonian, whose later father was a World War II hero, would appreciate Old Trafford legend Keane’s battling instincts.
And the Irishman could fancy a return to the touchline after a series of uneasy TV appearances in ITV’s FA Cup coverage.
Keane, who had early success at Sunderland but left under a cloud before a disappointing spell at Ipswich, is tipped to take over this week, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
