Somerville midwife at local hospital helps deliver 9000th baby

The Midwives at Mount Auburn Hospital delivered their 9,000th baby on Saturday, Feb.11. 

Emma Chen of Quincy was born to Mingna Liu (mother) and Hui Chen (father) at 11:01 pm this past weekend. Weighing 8 pounds, 14 ounces, Chen was delivered by Certified Nurse-Midwife Clare Storck of Somerville.

Started in 1983, the Midwives at Mount Auburn Hospital is one of the oldest community hospital-based services in Greater Boston. Today it is made up of 21 midwives led by Robyn Churchill, CNM, Director of Midwifery Services.
