Icelandair to hold second annual children’s charity ice skating event in Boston
Posted on28 February 2012.
Icelandair will be holding the second annual ‘Last Bostonian Skating’ children’s charity ice skating event in Boston, Massachusetts, taking place at Kendall Square Community Ice Skating Rink on 3rd March 2012.
Like last year’s event, Icelandair will be sponsoring a day of free ice skating and skate rentals in order to raise money for the Icelandair Special Children Travel Fund and The Children’s Hospital Boston.
The goal of this annual event is to bring the local community together in a fun and interactive environment whilst raising money and awareness for two great causes. Proceeds raised will be used to send a child from The Children’s Hospital Boston, and his or her family, on the trip of a lifetime to Iceland.
During the event, some of Iceland’s top musicians including Mugison, Sóley, Pétur Ben, and Lay Low will be performing. In addition, the award-winning Icelandic chef Hákon Már Örvarsson will be cooking up his world famous lamb soup for all those partaking.
The 2012 ‘Last Bostonian Skating’ event is being organised in cooperation with A Taste of Iceland, with Icelandic music, film and culinary surprises happening throughout the city of Boston between 1st and 4th March 2012.
Icelandair encourages you to bring your family and friends to the Kendall Square Community Ice Skating Rink on 3rd March between 12 and 3PM and enjoy the free ice skating event.
