To the Editor:
Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston celebrated Certified Nurses Day on March 19 by honoring its board certified nurses. Board certification in hospice and palliative care nursing plays an increasingly important role in the assurance of high standards of care for our patients and their loved ones. While a registered nurse (RN) license provides entry to general nursing practice, the intensive requirements of hospice and palliative care nursing require extensive post-secondary and continuing education as well as a strong personal commitment to excellence by the nurse.
The following Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston nurse from Swampscott is being recognized for her professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care at Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston:
· Donna Sciola, RN, Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse
The largest and most experienced provider in the region, Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston’s nurses have been dedicated to providing expert, compassionate care to patients and families for more than three decades.
Please join Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston in honoring these hardworking, dedicated nurses for their professionalism, and a job well done! — Diane T. Stringer, president, Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston
