Milton resident John Fish, the Chairman and CEO of Suffolk Construction, was recently named No. 1 on Boston Magazine’s “Most Powerful Bostonians” list.
The annual issue was released on Wednesday and was celebrated the night before at McGladrey in Charlestown.
According to Suffolk Construction’s website, Fish has built the company into one of the most successful privately-held building contractors in the U.S., with $1.7 billion in annual revenue.
In the “Power List” article, Boston Magazine points to Suffolk’s major projects around the city like the cardiovascular center at Brigham and Women’s, the cancer research center at MIT and the convention center.
“Power, in the traditional sense of the word, means ‘influence,’ and that is exactly what we set to uncover,” said Rick Waechter, CEO of Boston magazine, in a press release about Fish’s recognition. “This year, we made a point to delve even deeper in spotlighting the 50 true Bostonians who make this city tick – from politicians, to restaurateurs, to financiers, to socialites. Boston is a unique city with both equally old and new power blood and today, we are proud to honor those individuals.”
