Boston, MA, April 01, 2012 –(PR.com)– It was time for a change in early 2012 when The Touch, a jewelry design company in the Greater Boston Area decided to hold a contest. One of their most popular lines, interchangeable bracelets, was the center of a fan driven challenge. The bracelets are handcrafted in a way that you can change the top easily and often. Touch customers can recognize their designs instantly, but the collection’s name was not as familiar. The bracelets were referred to by all different names and descriptions, sometimes making it difficult to be sure of what the customer was looking for.
Retail store employees, their customers and fans were asked via e-blast and mailed contest forms to lend their creativity and help The Touch rename this popular collection. There were over 300 submissions, making it difficult to choose just one. A top twelve list was created through a Facebook contest and one response emerged victorious after the contest was opened to all Facebook fans to vote.
The prize winning name had to convey exactly what the collection is while also sounding pleasant and easily recognizable. The chosen name will now be used in advertising in 2012, printed on marketing materials like displays and catalogs, on the website and on the company’s Facebook page.
The winner? “Swap Tops.” The submission came from a loyal Touch fan named Scott Moulton of Easton, Pennsylvania. This new title establishes the exact meaning of the collection: bracelet tops that you can swap. As a thank you from The Touch, Scott will receive a Silver Bangle and Double Heart Sterling Silver Swap Top which he will give to his wife Wendy (another Touch fan). Other styles offered include Calla Lily, Compass Rose, Starfish and many more. The Double Heart Top will be placed on a Sterling Silver bangle and sent to him to gift to his wife.
The Touch is looking forward to sharing the new name with the public and all of their retail partners across the country.
