Nix’s Mate, set to open this month, will be the new anchor restaurant at the Hilton Downtown Boston/Financial District.
The latest eatery from Bostonian Hospitality Group, Nix’s Mate will serve up modern American cuisine, according to a news release from the group.
The restaurant is located in the former space of Caliterra at the Hilton. The name Nix’s Mate is a reference to a small island in the Boston Harbor Islands. In the early 1700s several pirates who had been arrested, were tied to the rock, as a method of deterring further pirate activity.
“We are thrilled to bring our interpretation of New England-inspired cuisine to the City of Boston,” said Aaron Sells, partner of Bostonian Hospitality Group, in a news release. “With a menu that emphasizes fresh, local ingredients, an enthusiastic staff, and a refreshing design scheme, our efforts will reflect our appreciation for this historic area that we call home.”
Dishes at Nix’s Mate will be priced between $7 and $17. Featured menu items will include roasted jumbo chicken breast with creamy mashed potatoes; grilled yellow fin tuna and Nix’s surf n’ turf, with jumbo shrimp and filet mignon.
