FRIENDS OF BOSTON’S HOMELESS CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY AT ANNUAL BEYOND SHELTER GALA
WHAT:Friends of Boston’s Homeless, in celebration of 25 successful years of serving the city’s homeless, announces the annual Beyond Shelter benefit gala.
Hosted by Mayor Thomas Menino and emceed by Founder John Rosenthal The Improper Bostonian’s Jonathan Soroff, the event will feature gourmet tastings by the city’s top chefs with live music by Canary, the Berklee Bob Marley Ensemble Band, and Mango Blue.
Named one of Boston’s Top 100 events by BizBash magazine, over 20 restaurants will participate this year, including Eastern Standard, Union Bar Grille, Hamersley’s Bistro, Douzo, Red Lantern, Flour Bakery + Cafe, Ashmont Grill, Tavolo, Tremont 647, Redbones, and The Fireplace. Beverage sponsors include Narragansett Beer and Farnum Hill Ciders. The annual gala will also feature a raffle and live auction with items including Red Sox and New England Patriots autographed sports memorabilia, VIP concert tickets, fine art,
jewelry, and luxury city weekend getaway packages.
Event proceeds will benefit Friends of Boston’s Homeless programs to help homeless individuals gain independence through education, employment, life skills development and permanent housing.
