BOSTON bowler Bex Field has been crowned the ladies’ National Singles champion.
Bex – who grew up in the area and represented Boston Indoor Bowling Club as a junior, before switching to Norfolk Club, Norwich – has followed in the footsteps of fellow Bostonian Chris Hiom.
Chris won the title in the 1998 and 1999.
Bex is no stranger to success at national level, having won the under 25s singles title in both 2009 and last year.
The final was close in the early stages, but Bex pulled away to win 21-9.
In the Yetton Plate final, Boston ladies fell to a strong Swale outfit 84-69 . Boston only had one winning rink that was Jo Sharp, Tina Reeson, Maggie Kisby and Jean Cammack, who were successful 24-13.
