YBA Scores Big with First Emmy Nomination for Teen Program KSports New England …

Natick, MA, May 18, 2012 –(PR.com)– Young Broadcasters of America is proud to announce that its first-of-its-kind program –KSPORTS New England — has been honored by the New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts Sciences, by being named a finalist for an Emmy™ in the sports series category.

KSPORTS New England is a sports magazine show for teens, produced by teens, that aired on New England Sports Network April through June 2011.

KSPORTS New England was the brainchild of YBA founder and Emmy-winning Sportscaster Jimmy Young and is the first program utilizing YBA’s proprietary course curriculum. This program was produced in conjunction with Mike Winn of the Winn Media Group.

Young said, “In just six months, we held public auditions, marketing to teens in the region, identified and trained two hosts in our own studio, and produced an Emmy caliber program for NESN. This really does validate our methodology and ability to create quality programs with talent under the age of 19!”

Shot on location at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, MA, the home of the Brockton Rox, teen hosts Cam Rogers from New Hampshire and Alexis Paige from Boston introduced a series of features totally produced by a production team under the age of 19.

YBA Communications is the home of Young Broadcasters of America and offers on line and in studio courses all year. Their world headquarters is located in Natick MA.

Crew and Production Team included: Alex Barth- Sharon HS; Alex Reimer- Natick, MA; Max Bloch- Westborough HS; Ashley Lynch-Field producer; Dan Weinberg- editor; Zach Washington- Graphics Editing. Instructors included Young and former ESPN anchor Eric Clemons.

The New England Emmy Awards will be announced June 2, 2012 in Boston.
