Braintree-Based Liberty Bay CEO Participates in ‘Buzz Off’ for Kids Cancer

Liberty Bay Credit Union CEO Ken Dyer is losing his hair over One Mission’s “Buzz Off” taking place at Gillette Stadium this Sunday, literally.

With a longstanding history of supporting charitable organizations in the Greater Boston community, “Bald Kenny” has upped the anti for the 2012 One Mission “Buzz Off,” raising more than $8,000 to support cancer care at Children’s Hospital heading into the final week of donations.

Dyer currently holds third place in a pool of more than 400 fundraisers, including official “Buzz Off” spokesman and New Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski.

Founded in 2009 by Ari and Ashley Haseotes, One Mission’s “Buzz Off” is dedicated to funding research to help children and their families cope with pediatric cancer. The organization offers numerous supportive and financial programs for both children and their families in Massachusetts and throughout New England.

“I am very proud of this full head of hair but even more proud to buzz it off for such a great cause,” Liberty Bay Credit Union CEO Ken Dyer said. “I started with an initial goal of $5K and with the tremendous support from Liberty Bay as well as friends and family, I have been able tonearly double that benchmark only a few days before the Buzz Off.”

As an extra incentive, all those who donate $10 or more will go into a drawing to win an autographed Wes Welker football compliments of Liberty Bay Credit Union. Donating is quick and easy, and can be completed online at http://bit.ly/BaldKenny.
