On Thursday, May 31, Supportive Living Inc. (SLI), a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and maintaining high quality, home-like environments for survivors of brain injury in the greater Boston area, celebrated the grand opening of its Brain Injury Rehabilitation Research and Wellness Center at an event held at the Lexington Depot.
The new research facility is located at SLI’s Douglas House in the heart of Lexington.
Led by SLI and a team of professionals affiliated with Northeastern University, Brandeis University, New England Rehabilitation Hospital and Advocates, Inc., the center is conducting research on a variety of community-based rehabilitation and therapeutic services designed to help brain injury survivors increase their ability to interact in community settings and raise their quality of life.
At the center’s grand opening celebration, SLI also recognized Lexington’s public officials, residents, civic organizations, and businesses for their inclusion of SLI and its residents into the community.
