Proulx named Constitution chief
The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia recently appointed Natick native Julie Proulx to the newly created position of deputy chief of staff. Proulx is a recent graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Previously, she served as a program assistant for the Corporation for National and Community Service, where she worked closely with National Constitution Center President and CEO David Eisner during his tenure as CEO of the corporation. In her new role as deputy chief of staff, Proulx will support the center’s president and CEO and chief operations officer on special projects that ensure the success of the center’s new five-year strategic plan. She also will collaborate with the center’s external partners.

O’Brien leases space in Billerica
Paul Mulroy, vice president at O’Brien Commercial Properties Inc. in Marlborough, recently leased 7,010 square feet of flex space at 19 Sterling Road in Billerica. Mulroy represented the landlord, DSJC Inc., and directly procured the new tenant, Peak Scientific Inc. Peak Scientific develops and distributes laboratory gas generators.

O’Brien leases space in Hudson
Boston Trade International Inc. recently leased space at 9 Bonazzoli Ave. in Hudson. Boston Trade International Inc. is an interior design company which specializes in contract furnishings for hospitality companies. David Curley, a senior associate at O’Brien Commercial Properties Inc. in Marlborough, represented Boston Trade International in the transaction.

Greater Boston leases space in Marlborough
Ben Gatti of Greater Boston Commercial Properties Inc. in Marlborough recently leased 2,135 square feet of office space in the historic Shoe Box building at 72 Jefferson St. in Marlborough. Gatti represented the tenant, MMA Management, which is a private vendor that provides parking ticket revenue collection services for local municipalities. The Shoe Box building has been owned by Sandra and Anthony Antico Real Estate LLC since March 2002.

Avidia Bank hires Tad Perachi
Avidia Bank recently announced that Tad Perachi, residential loan officer, has joined the bank’s residential lending department. A Walpole resident, Perachi most recently was a senior loan officer with Citizens Bank. Headquartered in Hudson, Avidia has branches in Hudson, Westborough, Clinton, Leominster, Marlborough, Northborough and Shrewsbury.

Avidia Bank gives $250 to muscular dystrophy group
In honor of Avidia Bank’s five-year birthday celebration, the Westborough East Office as well as the Willows Office is donating $250 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Headquartered in Hudson, Avidia has branches in Hudson, Westborough, Clinton, Leominster, Marlborough, Northborough and Shrewsbury.

Rockland Trust helps energy fund
Rockland Trust recently donated $12,000 to The Salvation Army’s Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund. The donation was the result of Rockland Trust’s third annual Warm for the Winter drive held in the bank’s 67 branches. During the 2011 holiday season, Rockland Trust sold paper mittens for $1, $3 and $5 with all proceeds benefiting the Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund, a cooperative effort between Massachusetts energy companies and The Salvation Army of Massachusetts, providing energy assistance to those in temporary crisis. Rockland Trust operates branches in MetroWest.

Cedarlawn Tree honors Bob Dill
At a brunch held recently at Lake Pearl Luciano’s in Wrentham, Bob Dill received the inaugural Patriot Award from Cedarlawn Tree in Ashland. An integral part of Cedarlawn for many years, Dill took on the duties of heading up the company’s turf care division. Challenges included becoming a manager, being introduced into the sales department, becoming more computer literate and learning new office processes. The award came with a cash prize and two tickets to the Patriots-Ravens AFC championship game. Cedarlawn Tree has provided arboricultural services in the Boston-MetroWest area for almost 60 years.

Consigli promotes William O’Rourke
Consigli Construction Co. Inc. in Milford recently promoted William J. O’Rourke of North Attleboro to project executive. A building industry veteran with more than 17 years of construction management experience in health care, life sciences and university projects throughout New England, O’Rourke will provide overall project team leadership for some of Consigli’s most challenging projects.

Staples Inc. recently launched a new tablet website and new android smartphone app. The tablet site, t.staples.com, delivers content to customers in an easy-to-use format, according to the company. Rockland aids Women of Means
The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation recently granted $10,000 to Women of Means Inc. to support nursing programs in two family shelters in Waltham. Women of Means provides health care, education and advocacy with the purpose of improving the lives of homeless women and their families. Rockland Trust operates bank branches in MetroWest.

Cheese Shop named exclusive  David merchant
