The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce has revived a longstanding tradition, the Ten Outstanding Young Leaders awards, which will be held tomorrow night at the Westin Boston Waterfront.
This year’s honorees include the following individuals:
•Kate Cook, director of policy and cabinet affairs in the office of the governor.
• Thomas Crohan, assistant vice president of John Hancock Financial.
• Richard Davey, MassDOT secretary and CEO.
• Eric Ding, a faculty member at the Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
• Alice Jacobs, chairman, CEO and founder of Intelligent MDx.
• Piper McNealy, a partner at Boston Benefit Partners, LLC.
• Michael Ross, Boston City Councilor.
• Greg Shell, a portfolio manager at GMO, LLC.
• Kim Steimle, chief marketing officer at Suffolk Construction Company, Inc.
• Mitch Weiss, chief of staff at the City of Boston Mayor’s office.
The TOYL awards were presented by the Boston Jaycees from 1952 to 2006 to identify and celebrate the region’s young leaders. Since its inception, more than 500 young leaders, including President John F. Kennedy, community advocate Carol Fulp, business leader Jack Connors Jr. and Boston Red Sox [team stats] slugger Carl Yastrzemski, have been honored for their professional, personal and civic commitment to improving the quality of life in Boston.
