Bud LaCava is returning to lead KPMG’s Boston office, after a three-year stint as a regional managing partner for the accounting firm.
Bud LaCava is rejoining KPMG’s Boston office as managing partner after serving as regional managing partner for the firm’s East region, the audit, tax and advisory service provider said on Monday.
LaCava, 56, is a member of KPMG’s board of directors, a 34-year veteran of the firm and has been a partner since 1989. He previously served as the head of the firm’s Boston office from 2003 to 2009. LaCava succeeds Pat Canning, who was named managing partner of KPMG’s Chicago office.
“Massachusetts and Greater Boston are well positioned to lead the country in emerging technology and economic recovery,” LaCava said in a phone interview. “We’ll continue the momentum to strengthen the relationship with our partners, employees and community engagement.”
KPMG has roughly 700 employees in Boston and Cambridge. It recently announced a new office in Cambridge, Mass. to serve emerging technologies and life-science companies, a newly intensified focus for the firm, according to LaCava.
LaCava has served clients covering consumer products, manufacturing, retail and distribution industries. He has managed numerous merger and acquisition engagements for both public and privately held companies.
He is a graduate of Bentley University, and he chairs the college’s Business School Advisory Council. He is also director of the Kevin Youkilis Hits for Kids.
