BOSTON — Strong storms moving into the Boston area have prompted two kinds of alerts Tuesday afternoon.
Meteorologist Alan Dunham with the National Weather Service says a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Worcester, Norfolk and Middlesex counties.
“People in the warning area, if they see a storm coming, they should seek shelter immediately,” Dunham said. “These storms have a history of three-quarter-inch hail and frequent lightning.”
A severe thunderstorm watch — a lower level alert — is in effect until 8 p.m.
