What was on his list? Somerville, Cambridge, JP and South Boston. Using he and his dorky thick glasses as a barometer- those places are the capitols of cool locally.

Sounds more like they are describing Allston. There is no youthful (under 40) night life in Brookline police would not allow it. Brookline is more a place for families because the schools are so good.. there were some funky stores but they closed.
