Free ice cream truck from RCN to roll through MetroWest, Boston area

The following is based on a prepared statement from RCN Boston:

RCN Boston will drive its signature summer ice cream truck back on the road for the sixth year to deliver free ice cream treats to neighborhoods in the greater Boston and MetroWest areas.

The truck is expected to stop in 23 communities, including Framingham and Natick.

The theme of this year’s summer ice cream truck tour is “Customer Appreciation,” which coincides with RCN’s month-long Customer Appreciation Days promotion, according to the company.

Throughout the duration of Customer Appreciation Days, RCN customers are eligible for a number of special perks, including a free On Demand movie, TiVo, and high-speed internet offerings.

“Connecting with our customers and local residents over a cool treat during these hot summer days is one of our favorite ways of showing we are invested in the communities we serve,” said Vice President and General Manager Jeff Carlson. “The Tour gives us an opportunity to have some fun while informing visitors about the recent improvements RCN has made to enhance the customer experience.”

The RCN Ice Cream truck will be stopping in neighborhoods throughout greater Boston for the duration of the summer, including: Allston, Arlington, Boston, Brighton, Brookline, Burlington, Dedham, Dorchester, Framingham, Hyde Park, Lexington, Milton, Natick, Needham, Newton, Roslindale, Somerville, Stoneham, Wakefield, Waltham, Watertown, West Roxbury and Woburn.

Live updates on the ice cream truck can be found on the company’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
