(Photo : RETUERS/Piotr Sikora/VH1/Handout) Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and wife Evelyn Lozada are shown in this undated publicity photograph from the now-cancelled VH1 reality TV series “Ev Ocho” released to Reuters August 13, 2012.
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson has been getting a lot of attention these days but not for good reasons.
The former Miami Dolphins wide receiver was fired from the team in the wake of his arrest for allegedly head-butting Evelyn Lozada, her new spouse. Although the team announced that the reason Johnson got fired had nothing to do with his arrest but rather with not being a good fit for the team, one cannot avoid but question if his arrest may have hastened the Dolphins to come to that decision.

Twitter Goes Silent
Johnson is also an avid social media user who tweets several dozens of messages throughout a week and has some three million followers reading them.
However, after the arrest took place and Johnson was subsequently released from jail on bail, his twitter account has been unusually silent.
His Twitter account has been inactive since everything for him broke loose last week and the last message before suddenly tweeting “Goodmorning….” today was a message he posted on August 14 reading: “I haven’t had to tread water in a long time… special thank you to my fans…family…friends for keeping me afloat…”
Chad on Tuesday released a statement where he made his apologies public and where he addressed himself to Evelyn as well.
“I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death,” he said.
Reports of Affairs with Another Woman
Johnson may even need to further apologize to Evelyn if the following report is indeed true.
According to Radaronline.com, Beverly Shiner, 30, told the media outlet that Johnson was dating her between the months of January and May of this year – which coincides with the time that Evelyn was already preparing for the wedding.
Shiner, a Boston native, told Radar that she decided to proceed with the relationship after believing that Chad had split up with his girlfriend
Last week, an altercation between Johnson and Lozada turned physical after Lozada found a receipt for condoms in the car and started calling the cops, reportedly.
According to Johnson’s public statement, the ex-NFL player still plans to play for the league or better yet, hopes an NFL league will sign him in.
“I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life,” he said.
