Carver students take part in Boston Seafood Festival

Carver Middle High School culinary students spent this past Saturday taking part in the inaugural Boston Seafood Festival. The students rotated from a variety of venues, from the lobster bake dinner prepared by Jasper White’s Seafood Shack and assisting in oyster shucking to working with area chefs in the chefs demo area.

The students worked with greater Boston chef in a sustainable-seafood gala the previous evening. Each student worked with groups of chefs as they prepared and served dishes using under-used fish species. The $125-per-plate dinner was to raise awareness about the overfishing of certain fish species, and the Carver students were right in the middle of the action.
