Waltham Community Notes: Auditions for Reagle’s ‘Christmastime’

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston invites children and adults to audition for its spectacular holiday revue ChristmasTime at the Robinson Theatre, Waltham High School, 617 Lexington Street, Waltham. Each year more than 100 children and an equal number of adults perform a wide range of holiday music ranging from traditional choral pieces to updated jazz and big band numbers. A large dancing chorus is also featured. Now in its 30th edition, ChristmasTime is an annual seasonal favorite, as popular a tradition as The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, and the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes.

The audition schedule is outlined below:

Saturday, Nov. 3

9 a.m.: Raggedy Anns and Andys (6th, 7th and 8th grade girls)

9:30 a.m.: Elves (1st to 4th grade boys and girls)

10 a.m.: Young Girls (4th and 5th grade girls)

10:30 a.m.: Santas (4th to 8th grade boys)

10:30 a.m.: Singers (High School to Adult)

Older children will be auditioning for roles as Raggedy Anns and Andys, Santas, and Clara in the “Teddy Bear’s Nutcracker.” One hundred younger boys and girls are sought to play Elves.

Adults from high school age and up are also invited to audition. Reagle seeks excellent tap dancers for the precision dance corps and superb singers to join the singing ensemble. Adult singers are asked to bring sheet music for a popular Christmas song plus a favorite Christmas carol. They will be asked to sing 16 bars from the former and harmony on the latter. An accompanist will be provided.

Information on the auditions and a complete rehearsal schedule are posted on the Reagle website at www.reaglemusictheatre.com under Auditions and Employment. Attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory. Performances are Fridays, Dec. 7 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays, Dec. 8 and 15, and Sundays, Dec. 9 and 16 at 1 and 5 p.m.
