ENP Newswire – 06 November 2012
Release date- 05112012 – Rockland Trust today announced it has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Greater Boston by The Boston Globe for the fourth consecutive year.
The employee-based survey recognizes the most progressive companies in Massachusetts based strictly on employee opinion.
‘We are honored to be recognized yet again by The Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in the area,’ said Chris Oddleifson, President and CEO of Rockland Trust. ‘From our tellers to our financial planners, our commercial bankers and everyone behind the scenes, each member of our team plays a critical role in ensuring our customers are delighted with their banking experience. At Rockland Trust we value our relationship with each employee and are committed to acting on their behalf to provide a positive environment for success.’
Rockland Trust, with 67 branches throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, employs nearly 1000 people in a stable and profitable environment with accessible, hands-on senior management. In addition to other benefits, the community-focused bank provides employees and their families with the award-winning RockFIT wellness program that focuses on their financial, physical, and mental health. Rockland Trust also offers all employees two paid days off each year to volunteer in the community through ROCKCORP, which provides volunteers for local organizations’ projects and events.
The Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work survey was conducted by WorkPlace Dynamics of Exton, Pennsylvania and was compiled through responses from more than 81,000 employees at 304 organizations in the Boston area. Surveys included questions about leadership, compensation, career opportunities, appreciation and management.
‘When we launched in 2008 during the Great Recession, we wondered if employers would lose focus on keeping their employees happy,’ Boston Globe Business Editor Shirley Leung said. ‘But businesses have continued to make strides in employee appreciation and opportunities. With more than 300 companies surveyed this year, we saw our highest participation rate to date.’
The Top Places to Work magazine, published on November 4, also includes online extras, such as videos, sortable rankings and photo galleries, which can be found at www.boston.com and www.boston.com/topworkplaces. Top Places to Work news is also available via Twitter at #workboston.
