BOSTON–(HighRoads,

is putting 6,250 traditional Thanksgiving turkey meals on the table for
Boston area families. HighRoads is renewing its support of the Greater
Boston Food Bank’s campaign to provide needy families with a good meal
this holiday season.
The 12 to 14 pound turkeys donated by HighRoads are enough to feed a
family of eight. Greater Boston Food bank has set a goal of 40,000
turkeys and HighRoads is encouraging all individuals and companies to
participate in this holiday drive. Donation information can be found at www.gbfb.org/turkeydrive.
“It has been a traumatic year for so many families, with the jobless
rate in Boston still high, and the uncertainty of what the next year
will bring for businesses. HighRoads has weathered the economic storm
and on behalf of our employees, customers and partners we are happy to
make a difference this Thanksgiving. Helping the Greater Boston Food
Bank is our way of giving thanks,” said HighRoads CEO Michael Byers.
The Greater Boston Food Bank provides hunger relief to as many as
545,000 people annually – a 23% increase over the last seven years.
About a third of its clients are children under the age of 18, and about
15% of clients are 65 and older.
