Get your snow tires ready.
Commuters on the road tomorrow night and Wednesday morning could be slipping and sliding as snow accumulates across the region, according to the National Weather Service.
The Greater Boston area can expect up to 2 inches of snow tomorrow night during the commute, depending on which way the wind blows, and trace amounts of snow the next day, forecasters say.
“Boston can expect light snowfall,” said Benjamin Sipprell, a meteorologist for the NWS. “It will have some difficulty accumulating on roads, but you can’t rule out the dusting of snow on elevated surfaces such as bridges.”
The heaviest snowfall will occur tomorrow afternoon just south of the Mass Pike.
“Boston gets a little bit tricky,” Sipprell said. “It only takes a little snow to cause hazardous driving conditions.”
The amount of snow that will accumulate drops as you get closer to Boston, he said.
