Law firm donates $25K to help needy children attend camp at Newton nonprofit

In honor of a recently deceased partner, a Boston-based law firm announced it is gifting money to help needy children attend summer camps at a Newton non-profit.

Riemer and Braunstein announced recently that it was donating  $25,000 to fund a program to help disabled children – through the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Greater Boston – attend summer camps at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston. Both the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston and the JCC of Greater Boston are Newton-based organizations.

The firm made the donation in honor of Jonathan Samen, who was the former president of the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston and co-chairman of the JCC of Greater Boston.

“Jonathan’s certain knowledge that the experience of summer camping magnifies enormously all the good things in a child’s life is mirrored in the generous and thoughtful commitment of his firm,” said Harvey Lowell, president and CEO of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters, in the press release.
