Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston, a leading non-profit hospice provider in Massachusetts, is pleased to announce its new Provider Relations Team. This team of six provider-relations coordinators will be working with physicians, hospitals, home health providers, assisted-living facilities, nursing homes, long-term care facilities and other community organizations to educate providers and patients and assist with patient referrals for hospice service, according to Lyn Skarmeas, vice president of business development and provider relations.
“I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to lead this HNSGB team,” said Skarmeas. “HNSGB is deeply connected to the communities it serves. This organization is extremely passionate about increasing awareness of hospice and palliative care and the essential services that it provides to those who need it most.”
She added, “One of the most important messages we can bring to the public and medical community is that patients can and should access hospice services sooner. By accessing our full range of services in the months — rather than weeks — before the end of life, we can help our patients and their families enjoy a better quality of life.”
Together, this team of seasoned health-care professionals brings a total of over 50 years of hospice experience to their work at HNSGB. Provider Relations Coordinators will serve communities in Boston, Metrowest, Greater Boston and on the North Shore. To learn more, visit hnsgb.org or call 978-774-7566.
