Local author and historian Ted Clarke visits the Tufts Library in Weymouth at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28 to talk about his book, “The Charles River: A History of Greater Boston’s Waterway.” Clarke, who lives in Weymouth, explores the role the river has played as a source of waterpower, transportation, and recreation for the 23 towns and cities along its route. Kate MacLeod Emery will sign copies of her children’s book, “Muffy MacMouse and the Village of Friendship,” beginning at 11 a.m. April 13 and 14 at the Paragon Carousel in Hull. Muffy MacMouse, who wears the MacLeod tartan kilt and tam, wanders into the Village of Friendship and learns about caring and sharing.
