Elisabeth Rockwood of Ashland, a registered nurse, has been honored for her professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care at Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston.
Rockwood is a certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
Hospice of North Shore and Greater Boston honored Rockwood as part of Certified Nurses Day on March 19.
Board certification in hospice and palliative care nursing plays an important role in assuring high standards of care, said Diane T. Stringer, president of Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston. But beyond this, Stringer said, hospice and palliative care nursing require extensive post-secondary and continuing education as well as a strong commitment to excellence by the nurse.
