Medford High freshmen pitcher Ashley Eisnor won her fourth straight game overpowering Malden, 6-2.
With the win Mustangs now stand on top of the Greater Boston League with a 4-0 record.
The defending Easter Mass. Division I winners and four-time Greater Boston League Champion Golden Tornadoes were hit hard as Medford scored six runs over the first two innings.
According to Coach Jack Dempsey, senior co-captains Katie Napier and Sam Lopilato were instrumental in the Mustang’s attack. Napier belted three hits, scoring two runs and adding two RBI. Lopilato laced a pair of hits, with a run and an RBI.
Sophomore Brianna Napoleone continued her torrid hitting from the third spot with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Senior Christina Lynch pounded out a pair of hits and two RBI. Junior Sarah Donnelly also banged out a pair hits and a big RBI. Sophomore Hannah O’Leary completed the hit parade with a long double and another RBI.
Meanwhile, Eisnor remained at ease. The Mustangs rookie surrendered five hits and two walks, while fanning nine. She also helped out her own cause drilling a double.
Medford will head to Somerville for its next game against the Highlanders, Monday, May 6 at Trum Field.
