Hollywood actor and gay rights activist Omar Sharif Jr., the grandson of Legendary Award winning actor of Doctor Zhivago and Funny Girl fame Omar Sharif, will be in Boston on Thursday June 20th 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at The Boston Globe, 135 Morrissey Blvd., Boston.

Sharif will be a special celebrity guest of Get Konnected!, Greater Boston’s premier urban professional and business networking event that brings together urban professionals, business executives and entrepreneurs of diverse cultures, across industries and sectors for networking purposes. Sharif, whom last year announced he was homosexual, has recently become a national spokesperson for the Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), the principal LGBTQ anti-defamation organization.

The special Get Konnected! event will celebrate National Pride Month, and the power of networking as well as salute Boston’s LGBTQ and Ally Community. The event is hosted by The Boston Globe and co-sponsored by GLAAD; Mass Equality; Greater Boston Business Council; The History Project and AIDS Action Committee.
