Frozen seafood supplier High Liner Foods announced a partnership with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to donate the use of dock space at its Peabody MA facility.
GBFB, the largest hunger-relief organization in New England with an objective to distribute enough food to provide one meal a day to those in need, is committed to increasing food distribution in 2013. High Liner Foods’ donated dock space will be used to facilitate food deliveries in northeastern Massachusetts.
“The generosity of companies like High Liner Foods helps extend our reach to families in need throughout greater Boston,” said Catherine D’Amato, GBFB president and chief executive officer.
This partnership with GBFB is High Liner Foods’ latest anti-hunger initiative. In 2012, High Liner Foods donated 160,000 meals to families affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
“We feel a responsibility to lead change for the better, so we are thrilled to partner with The Greater Boston Food Bank to help relieve hunger right in our own community,” said Keith Decker, president and chief operating officer of High Liner Foods (USA).
