Rising Stars Basketball School will be holding its summer basketball camp, July 22-26 at Melrose High School.
Recognized as Greater Boston’s finest teaching camp, Rising Stars attracts outstanding area coaches who provide quality instruction and a competitive atmosphere. The camp is open to players ages 9-18 who are divided into divisions by age. The camp runs daily from 8:30-3:30 p.m.
The camp is directed by Kevin O’Brien, longtime college basketball coach at Harvard, Boston University, Brandeis and Stonehill. He will be assisted by Mike Kasprzak, head coach at Melrose High School and a key contributor to the Rising Star Staff over the past four years. Other top area high school and college coaches are expected to be part of the staff. The camp enters its 20th year of operation.
“Our response in Melrose to some of our clinics has been just tremendous,” said O’Brien. “The tradition of basketball in the City is very strong and the enthusiasm created by Mike (Kasprzak) is really catching on. We enthusiastically look forward to the week.”
