Free programs help with grieving death of loved ones

The Bertolon Center for Grief Healing, a program of Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston, is offering a variety of workshops in late summer/fall 2013. Free of charge, these groups offer several options for people grieving the death of a loved one, with each group specific to individual needs and preferences.

All groups meet at Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston’s Wellesley office at 70 Walnut St., Suite 301.

Bertolon Center for Grief Healing workshops are open to anyone in the community who has lost someone special, according to the organization. Space is limited and advance registration is required. The upcoming schedule includes:                                     

-Newly Bereaved, a one-time workshop for loss of 1-3 months, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.                                           

-Grieving Loss in a Jewish Way, a weekly support group, will meet on Wednesdays from Oct. 2 to Nov. 20 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

-Hope and Healing: Adult Loss of a Parent, a weekly support group, will meet on Mondays from Sept. 16 through Oct. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. RSVP by Sept. 9.

-Young Widowed Workshop (50 and under) is an ongoing workshop that meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
