Concord grapes have definitely stood the test of time. Developed from wild New England native grapes in 1849 by Ephraim Bull, a Bostonian, the Concord grape was selected after planting and evaluating about 22,000 seedlings. In 1853 Ephraim won first prize for his discovery at the Boston Horticultural Society Exhibition.
