Boston Fed and Chamber of Commerce launch comprehensive intern website

College students and recent graduates now have a much easier way to find internships at Boston-area businesses: a new website that collects posted internships and displays them in one location.

InternHub.com, a free website launched Wednesday, allows students to browse both paid positions and those for college credit.

In addition to posting job descriptions, employers will be able to message applicants and schedule interviews.

Students will be able to post their resumes at InternHub, research employers registered on the website, read career development advice, and take personality assessments that are designed to help them find internships that may pique their interest.

The site was created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce as a tool to help keep college graduates in the Boston area after they earn their degrees.

The Boston Fed recently issued research showing that despite being home to many colleges, the New England area has the lowest retention rate of graduates of any region in the country.

There also seems to be a misperception that Greater Boston has limited job opportunities, said Paul Guzzi, the president and chief executive of the chamber.

“InternHub builds on work we’re doing to connect employers with the incredible talent in the region,” Guzzi said.

“It strengthens our competitiveness, and our competitive advantage is the talent we have available.”

The website builds on the chamber’s former website, Chamber Intern Connect.

It was available only to businesses that were members of the Chamber of Commerce.

InternHub, however, is available to all employers in the area.
