Medford High golf team rises to the top again

They’ve done it again.

The Medford High golf team recently captured at least a share of the Greater Boston League title, and now stand one win away from qualifying for the State Tournament.

Coach Ray Dyer’s squad can punch its own ticket to the big dance with a win against Everett, Thursday, Oct. 3. The Mustangs have enjoyed a tremendous run over the past decade, winning the Greater Boston League title four of the last five seasons.

“Qualifying for the state tournament while winning the GBL league title is our goal each and every year,” Dyer said.

Medford co-captains Adam Gabaree and Connor Lonergan have led a talented team that also includes seniors D.J. Galvin, Mike Bianco, juniors Dom Ramasci, Steve Silvio, Ryan Quinlan, Devin Newall, Ryan Hickey and Anthony Naso. Promising freshman Connor Frazer and Justin Kelly round out the squad.

“I would like to thank the kids for a very rewarding year,” said Medford Coach Ray Dyer. “Their

hard work should make Medford proud.”

The State Tournament will be held at Bradford Country Club on Oct 21.
