Audiences who like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” will love ComedySportzBoston’s fast paced action which incorporates audience’s suggestions in every show. CSz’s match features two teams of ‘actletes’ competing for laughs and points, with a referee keeping things moving and calling fouls. Like all good sporting events, the National Anthem starts things off. An average of seven to twelve games are played during a match, drawn from a repertoire of over a hundred improv games. Every show offers different players, different games, and different audiences supplying new suggestions. The fans judge the scenes and games and ultimately decide the winners and losers. On occasion a ComedySportz team asks “willing volunteers” to join in the fun.

ComedySportz Boston (CSzBos) Team: Jason Burke (Director), Matt Bistany, Ben Moser, Todd Page, Beth Kaufman, Francesca Villa, Danny Balel, Andrew Barlow, Jonathan Barron, Matt Aromando, Sam McCarty, Ethan Selby, Daniel Houbrick, and Ben Lewis.

ComedySportz is great for all ages, from young kids to grandparents. If an ‘actlete” steps beyond the boundaries of good taste, the “brown bag foul” (a brown paper sack placed over the offending player’s head) will be called to set things straight. ComedySportz even works for tough-to-please business groups.

Comedy Sportz Boston is the newest venture for entrepreneur David Goldstein, who launched and managed the very successful Mystery Cafe (1988), Boston Chocolate Tours (1998), and TeamBonding (2002). “I knew I wanted to open ComedySportz in Boston because it promotes a family friendly atmosphere along with top-notch improv comedy.” ComedySportz is part of the World Comedy League, which consists of twenty-four ComedySportz venues around the world. ComedySportzBoston is an independently owned business licensed by World Comedy League, Inc. The players are paid professionals who trained in our workshops and classes. Many have years of experience; some have played since the founding in 1984.
