Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston Changing Names

Hospice of the North Shore tacked on Greater Boston to its name a couple years ago to signify its larger service area with the acquisition of Partners Hospice, but now the Danvers-based organization is changing its name altogether.

As of Jan. 1, the nonprofit will be known instead as Care Dimensions. The new name was revealed last week.

The company has provided hospice care for 35 years and is now the largest provider of its kind in the region.

A company announcement says the new brand name, tagline and logo “clearly articulates the breadth and depth of care” provided to patients. Administrators and staff members also explained the reasons for a change in a video posted online.

“Hospice is still core to what we do, but we provide many more services in addition to hospice,” said President and CEO Diane Stringer. The name, however, didn’t reflect the care for patients with dementia or ALS, a pediatric program or other nursing services and facilities the company operates.

The mission, leadership and staff will remain the same.
