BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – If you don’t have plans this weekend, here is a list of things on tap for the next few days.
There’s a Chocolate Festival in Harvard Square starting Friday, Jan. 24 and running through Jan. 26. Savor chocolate-inspired appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails at many of the local restaurants and shops.
Brunch is always great on a chilly morning. On Saturday, Jan. 25 there’s something called the Super Hunger Brunch. There are 20 Greater Boston area restaurants participating. For every dollar you spend, three meals will go to folks served by the Greater Boston Food Bank. Last year this event led to 183,000 meals for people in need. Don’t you wish you could just wave a magic wand and have it be summer? Can’t help you there, but how about a magic show? Penn Teller are at the Shubert Theatre this weekend.
Did you know that the Franklin Park Zoo has “Be a Veterinarian” Saturday? From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. kids can bring their favorite stuffed animal for cuddly fun each Saturday in January to the Franklin Park Zoo. Kids will have the opportunity to dress up as vets and learn about why good veterinary care is so important. After giving their own stuffed animals a check-up, they will receive a certificate of good health to take home. Throughout the day, kids will learn more about health and wellness at scheduled story times and will also have the opportunity to meet with the zoo’s own veterinary staff.
And if the cold temps don’t scare you, spend Sunday in the park. This one is free, it’s called Pics in the Parks and you learn how to shoot landscape scenes in winter at Boston’s public parks. You get tips and a theme at each informal session, which is held Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon. This one is in Jamaica Plain and attendants should meet at the boathouse.
