Bostonian’s songs for sick daughter up for Grammy

BOSTON (AP) — A father from Boston is nominated for his first Grammy for a children’s album that was inspired by his young daughter with cancer. His child, Clio, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012 at the age of 5.

The album called “Singing Our Way Through: Songs for the World’s Bravest Kids” was written by Alastair Moock along with the help of his daughter.

The songwriter has sent out thousands of copies to hospitals, patient camps and directly to patients’ families to help others cope when loved ones fall ill.

According to Moock’s website ((http://bit.ly/1l70mlt ), Clio is still undergoing treatment, but the family is hopeful that she is on the road to recovery.

The Grammys, hosted by LL Cool J, will air this Sunday at 8 p.m.
