BOSTON — Approximately 30 percent of the flights out of Logan International Airport have been canceled today due to the nor’easter pounding the eastern part of the country. Three things are causing the cancellations: the weather in Boston, the weather in the rest of the country, and the busier than normal travel period because of the long President’s Day weekend.

The precipitation is currently alternating between snow and rain in the Greater Boston area. Measurable snow totals have not yet been reported.
