MEDFORD, Mass. — PixarBio Corporation today announced that its CEO Frank Reynolds is being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Greater Boston Chapter (GBC) of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA). The award will be presented at the 22nd annual RISE Above Paralysis Gala on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Boston’s Hyatt Harborside Hotel.
“Frank Reynolds suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury in 1992,” said David Estrada, former Executive Director of the GBC. “Since that time, he has been committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. He has more than 30 years of executive management experience, and has been a leader in the development of innovative therapies that one day may lead to a cure for spinal cord injury. Frank has founded several companies including InVivo Therapeutics and most recently, PixarBio Corporation.”
Upon hearing of his selection for the prestigious award, Frank Reynolds responded, “The Greater Boston Chapter team of the NSCIA is comprised of special people making a difference every day to one of the most desperate patient populations, the acute SCI patient. In many ways they are the only option for support to the new SCI patient, and they are all volunteers. They are just priceless. I am humbled to receive this honor.”
The event promises to be an exceptional evening, bringing together individuals with spinal cord injury, family members, health care professionals and benefactors to celebrate the work of the GBC and to honor a couple of individuals and a group who have had a positive impact on the SCI community.
