Boston goes lamb wild in April.
Lamb is, of course, the centerpiece of Easter menus throughout Greater Boston next week. All four Boston-area Metropolitan Club restaurants serve roast leg of lamb stuffed with pine nuts and dates on Easter Sunday (metrestaurantgroup.com), while the prix fixe Easter Sunday brunch at Rialto in Cambridge is highlighted by roast leg of lamb with minted ricotta ravioli and artichoke cream (rialto-restaurant.com).
Grafton Group restaurants, meanwhile, have teamed with the American Lamb Board to celebrate domestic lamb all month long.
Each eatery in the family (Grafton Street, Park, Russell House Tavern, Temple Bar) offers special American lamb appetizers and entrees every day this month, with recipe cards for each.
Finally, 20 of New England’s top chefs gather at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge on Sunday for the Boston stage of the American Lamb Jam. They’ll battle for the title of Best Lamb Dish in New England, while guests sip beer and wine from local producers.
The main event is preceded by a VIP hour highlighting lamb charcuterie from Jamie Bissonnette (Coppa, Toro), Dante de Magistris (Il Casale, Restaurant Dante), Louis DiBiccari (Tavern Road) and Will Gilson (Puritan Co.).
