The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce welcomed Suffolk Construction Co. Chairman and CEO John Fish as its new board chairman during its annual meeting yesterday.
“As chair, I look forward to shaping the chamber’s agenda for our new economy and creating a more global and collaborative network of business organizations beyond just Boston that will benefit the entire region,” Fish said.
In his 30 years at the helm, Suffolk Construction has grown into the largest builder in New England and one of the most successful building contractors in the United States.
Fish, who is taking over from Hill Holliday CEO Karen Kaplan, also serves on other boards, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Boys Girls Clubs of Boston.
He is also leading a committee that is exploring whether Boston has the capacity to host the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is a business network of 1,500 organizations, representing every industry in the Greater Boston region, which aims to create jobs and improve Boston’s business competitiveness.
